WWBBA CONTEST 2018At the West Wales Brass Band Contest held at Sir Thomas-Picton School, Haverfordwest on Saturday October 13th, the band failed to make the top three on this occasion.
Playing the test-piece Culloden Moor by Welsh composer Gareth Wood, the band had to settle for a lowly 5th place behind winners and hot favourites Newport Borough with Penclawdd and Abertillery Bands in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
Rather disappointing but this is the nature of competition.
Adjudicator: Ian Porthouse

Leading the Parade at LlanarthneOn Saturday October 20th the band were invited to lead the parade at Llanarthne for the unveiling of a new war memorial.
This event had received a great deal of media publicity with war veteran and former Carmarthenshire County Council Chairman D. T. Davies of Dryslwyn raising awareness of the commemorative stone newly erected outside the parish church.
The band was proud to be involved in this historical event.
